Digital proof is a color prepress proofing method where a job is printed from the digital file using inkjet, color laser, dye sublimation, or thermal wax print technologies to give a good approximation of what the final printed piece will look like. The digital proof is generally less expensive than other prepress proofs.
CTP (Computer to plate) is an imaging technology used in modern printing processes. In this technology,one generation (transfer of film image to the printing plate) is removed from the printing process, increasing sharpness and detail. CTP increases dot gain slightly by eliminating the decrease in halftone dot size which can occur in the film-to-plate exposure process when positive film is used.
